Results for So You Think You Can Dance

So for two weeks in a row now the contestant going home has been the one who was injured. I'm certain that for their general well-being it was the best decision for both Alex and for Ashley but still I'm sad. Alex was the best contestant of the season and among the best the show has ever had. Ashley was an unlikely winner but still I really liked her. She was a strong dancer with that overall likable quality. Nigel said she's been asked to do the tour so I truly hope she gets better in time for that. I would personally like to see her if I'm able to go to see the show here this fall.

I don't understand why Billy was in the bottom this week. I absolutely adored his shoe routine with Lauren. Mandy Moore can totally miss for me but this routine was one of my favorites of hers. Unfortunately I have not seen Billy's jive in its whole because a weather alert cut that out of the show here but from what I've seen it looked good and received positive reviews. That said I think Kent had a strong week as did Lauren. For me this was Robert's best week of the whole show. We're getting to the part of the show I dislike the most--the part where everybody who's left really is good and it's just about impossible to decide how to decide who to cut.

If Ashley had not been injured and in need of rest, I hope that this would have been the week that Jose went home. I like him well enough but I don't think he's doing as well as other styles as even say Legacy did last season. The judges were talking about how when his personality can't shine through, then you can see how the dancing isn't up to par. I think it's to the point in this DANCE competition where you really need to be able to dance. A nice smile and talent in one area can maybe get you in but now you have to be able to do a variety of styles. On top of which I feel like the judges are over-selling his personality. Maybe it's more noticeable when you get to spend time with him but just watching on TV, I think they are hyping it more than is deserved. And honestly I wasn't blown away by the routine with Dominic who I actually really like. It was good but I wasn't up off my couch like I was when Alex did that hip-hop. Unless he does something incredible next week, I think it's time for Jose to end his run.

Here's hoping that it will not be week 3 in a row of a dancer going out because of an injury.
